Connected Digital Device

SYNNECT®

Connected Add-On for Standard Syringes

SYNNECT® is a smart, connected add-on that transforms standard, prefilled, and safety syringes into data-enabled Connected Injection Devices (CID). The device enables real-time monitoring of the injection process and meaningful treatment insights by utilizing connectivity, while keeping the primary drug container unchanged and without any contact with the drug product.

SYNNECT® supports injectable therapies across digital health, IoMT, clinical research, adherence programs, and home-based treatment settings that require reliable injection documentation, remote monitoring, and guided user support.

Key Features & Benefits

Clinical Trials

Comprehensive Traceability
The system records the unique device ID, lot number, batch, and expiration date, generating objective data with volume and timestamp measurements.

Real-Time Protocol Monitoring
Remote data collection enables immediate identification of protocol deviations (e.g., incorrect dosing volumes, timing errors), empowering clinical teams to intervene proactively, correct administration issues, and provide targeted patient support.

Participant Recruitment & Retention
By enabling patients to complete study injections at home, SYNNECT™ makes participation more convenient and can help improve both recruitment and retention in clinical trials.

Cost & Resource Efficiency
Remote enablement reduces the need for expensive routine site visits and eliminates the need for clinical staff to visit patients at home, ultimately lowering overall trial costs.

Broader Geographic Reach and Diversity
Home‑based connected injections allow sponsors to include patients who live far from clinical sites, expanding the eligible population without adding new locations.

Pharmaceutical Companies

Generating Pharmacovigilance DATA By automatically capturing real-world information about how, when, and under what conditions a drug is administered. The pharma can improve the quality and completeness of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), better understand real-world medication adherence, correlate adverse events with user/dosing patterns, and meet increasing regulatory expectations for real-world evidence and post-market surveillance.

Patient Injection Evidence for Marketed Drugs Time-stamped injection data generates objective “proof of use” for therapies. This real-world evidence supports pharmacovigilance, demonstrates adherence, and provides the verifiable patient data that both pharmaceutical companies and payers require for long-term reimbursement, clinical evidence, and market access strategies.

Payers

Real‑Time Data Transmission
Built‑in sensors track injected volume, start/end events, and timestamps, securely transmitting real‑time injection data.

Generating User Evidence DATA
By getting the injection data, payers can control adherence and get real evidence of proof-of-usage of the supplied drug.

Healthcare Providers (HCPs)

Remote Monitoring
Enables care teams to identify patient administration issues early, before clinical complications arise.

Cost & Resource Optimization
Maintaining an objective record of injection events helps reduce the need for routine clinic visits, eliminates the need for ongoing home nursing visits, and lowers the risk of hospitalizations, ultimately reducing the total cost of care.

Self-Injecting Users and Caregivers

Confidence in Home Administration Interactive guidance, user indications, and direct visual guidance help users overcome technique anxiety and manage their treatment safely.

Consistent Adherence By sharing notifications, dose reminders, remote support, and administration feedback, the system drives reliable adherence.

How to Use

Key steps highlight - please refer to specific instructions for use.
01
Pair with the app
Open the DATAJECT mobile app and follow the pairing instructions.
02
Inject as usual
Perform the injection according to the drug’s instructions and follow the injection process on the mobile screen.
03
Review and share data
After the injection, the data is stored in the app and can be transmitted to secure data environments for reporting and analysis.

Smart Design

SYNNECT® replaces a standard plunger rod with a smart plunger rod and adds a dedicated finger flange. This approach enables potential compatibility with a wide range of standard, prefilled, and safety syringes. Once attached, the syringe functions as a connected injection device that monitors, measures, and detects every phase of the injection process, then transmits the data.

Guided Self-Administration

The DATAJECT app supports patients through every step of the injection process. Interactive, step-by-step guidance helps patients perform injections correctly and confidently at home, supporting self-administration and long-term adoption. Each patient’s personal injection protocol, including scheduling, dosing instructions, and program-specific rules, is presented directly in the app and tailored to the relevant study or therapy. Configurable dose reminders keep patients on track, help prevent missed or delayed injections, and flag potential issues in real time.
